I started out to write a short article on Hearing the Voice of the Lord. It kept growing until it went to six typewritten pages.

Please print it out and read it over carefully. If you have questions or comments about the material please email them back to me. I am not printing these and handing them out until I get some comment back from you. Thanks for your input.

HOW TO HEAR THE VOICE OF THE LORD

GOD SPEAKS TO THOSE WHO WILL LISTEN

The foundation stone of Christianity is hearing the voice of the Lord, clearly, and then doing what he tells you to do. This is clearly spoken in Deuteronomy the 28th Chapter beginning with verse

1. If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments

2. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you heed the voice of the Lord your God. (Amp) God wanted to prove to the children of Israel that He was speaking directly to Moses, however, once the people heard God speak to Moses they made a covenant not to hear God

(Exo 19:9 TLB) Then he said to Moses, "I am going to come to you in the form of a dark cloud, so that the people themselves can hear me when I talk with you, and then they will always believe you.

(Exo 20:19 TLB) They said to Moses, "You tell us what God says and we will obey, but don't let God speak directly to us, or it will kill us."

The children of Israel made a covenant not to directly hear the voice of the Lord. If I make a covenant not to hear the voice of the Lord, then I will not be able to directly hear the voice of the Lord. If I have made such a covenant, then I need to choose to break the covenant not to hear the voice of the Lord, and ask Jesus to annul it in his blood and set me free. I need to make a covenant to always hear the voice of the Lord and receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to enable me to hear the voice of the Lord, clearly and with understanding.

Fear of God, lack of trust in God, and feeling that He does not have my best interest at heart are some of the reasons why I do not listen to God. Add to this the attitude that we are the final judges on all matters pertaining to us, and you have a picture of why we do not listen to God. How did we come to this attitude? When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Jesus, who resided in their human spirit, was kicked out and the spirit of Antichrist took over. The Antichrist spirit has three personalities-I am god, I am savior, and I am judge. From that day on the spirit of antichrist has resided in each human who is born.

When I am born again and become a Christian I am not free of the spirit of Antichrist. I am not free until I choose to break my covenant with the spirit of Antichrist, and ask Jesus to annul this covenant with His blood. I, then, choose to make a covenant with Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Master.

You may be concerned as to why you have to do this. I can be born into a family; however, I do not have to obey the people in my family. I can choose not to hear them or obey them. In the same way, I can be born into the Kingdom of God and choose not to listen and obey the Holy Spirit, and I can choose not to break my covenant with the spirit of Antichrist in my human spirit. If I do this I will not be able to hear the voice of the Lord.

If I try to be god, savior, or judge-the personalities of the Antichrist, I will take things into my own hands, fail to stop to listen to God, and will decide on my own what I think I need to do.

Some Christians think that God stopped talking to his children when the last apostle died, or, at least, when the Bible was put into print. Not true. In Romans 10:17 (AMP) we read, So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ, the Messiah [Himself]. If God had stopped talking to his children, this scripture would not be in the Bible. Nor would this one. John 5:30(AMP) I am able to do nothing from myself-independently, of My own accord; but as I am taught by God and as I get his orders. [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to me, so I give a decision.] Even as I hear, I judge and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will-I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose-but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me. Jesus is our example in all things. He is our model, our forerunner. He shows us the way, and how we are to walk in the Way. If He never did anything without hearing and obeying the Father, then we are to do exactly the same. Jesus came from heaven, ministered to people, died on a cross, and rose from the dead that he might be the first born of many brethren. We are to follow His example in every area of our life. If Jesus heard the Father talk to Him, then we can hear the Father talk to us. It is that simple.

Why does God want to talk to us? First, He wants to have fellowship with us. He wants to relate to us, be with us. He wants us to talk to Him, ask Him questions, and do the things that two humans who are friends would do. He also wants to teach us, direct us, and cause us to grow up into all things in Him. He knows how we were created and what we were created for. He wants to reveal the real reasons we were born. He wants a walking, talking, intimate, personal relationship with us in every area of our life. After all that is the way we will be in heaven. We might as well start practicing now. How do you feel about that?

False images about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the angels of God, and the kingdom of God, false images about Satan, his angels, his principalities, and his demons, false images about myself, and false images about other people, all contribute to me not being able to hear God. Even when I hear Him, my false images twist what I hear and I misunderstand what God is saying. Add to that the familiar spirits in my conscience who always try to convince me that these false images are true and I should act on them. And the false images in my memory, which causes me to have anger and resentment about people from my past. Put all of this together, and you have all the logical and emotional reasons why you would not want to listen to God. We have been deceived by Satan, whether we realize it or not, and we have lost our trust and faith in God, ourselves, and other people. Finally, we end up only trusting ourselves and what we believe is right and true. We reject God and other people. We do this in spite of the fact that, in the past, we have found that we are not really trustworthy either. It is amazing to me that people depend upon their judgment of what is true even though they know they have been wrong many times before. It really shows the power that the Antichrist has over us even when we do not know he is there.

My ancestry plays a big part in my not hearing God, also. If I have parents, grand parents, great grand parents, etc., who had a hard time hearing God, or believed that God no longer talks to people, then I have inherited a curse from them that prevents me from hearing God. They didn't hear God, and I won't either. You may have come from a family of non-Christians who never believed in God in the first place. They may have been involved in the occult, or Satanism, or trusted only in themselves and what they could do. All of these things prevent me from hearing God. By this time, you are probably saying to yourself, "What can I do to be able to hear God?

You can do two things, you can pray to get free of all the things that prevent you from hearing the voice of the Lord, and you can check out the voices you are hearing to make sure they are from God.

Prayers to be able to hear the Lord.

Pray the "Prayers to Pray to be Made Whole in Jesus" for at least 21 days. (If you do not have a copy, email, write, fax, or call me and I will send you a copy). These prayers help you get free in many areas of your life. If you do not have a copy, pray the summarized prayers below:

Ask Jesus to remove all the evil beings from your heavenly space, especially the angel of darkness and false light, deception and delusion, false belief and unbelief, the occult angels, the angel of false images, false confirmation, false slavery and false worship, the angel of the shadow of death, and the male and female dominating angels that control your relationships. Choose to break every covenant you have ever made with any of these angels, and ask Jesus to take His Blood and annul every covenant.

Ask Jesus to come into your ancestral inheritance and remove all the righteous, unrighteous, and psychic curses that prevent you from hearing the Holy Spirit speak to you. Ask Him to remove the false gods, and sins of your forefather's that prevent you from hearing the Holy Spirit. Ask Jesus to take his blood and remove every covenant that was ever made in your ancestry that prevents you from hearing the voice of the Lord. Choose to receive your true inheritance from the Kingdom of God.

See yourself back in your mother's womb. Know that Jesus is there with you. He takes His blood and does away with all your ancestral inheritance. He drives out the familiar spirits that tell you not to trust God, or your parents. He drives out the familiar spirit that tells you that the only way you are ever going to make it in life is to do everything yourself and in your own power. Jesus comes into your human spirit, draws his sword and drives out the Antichrist with his personalities of I am god, I am savior, and I am judge. Jesus drives out the spirit of false power and authority, the spirit of pride and condemnation, and the spirit of deception and delusion. Choose to break the covenant you have made to be god, savior, and judge of your life and the lives of people around you. Choose to break the covenant you have made to exercise false power and authority. Choose to break the covenant you have made to be proud of yourself when you think you have done something good, and the covenant to condemn, judge, and put yourself down when you think you have failed. Choose to break the covenant you have made to submit to the spirit of deception and delusion. Ask Jesus to annul these covenants in His Blood. Choose to let Jesus be your God, Savior, and Judge. He created you and He loves you, and He wants to restore you to the person He created you to be. Let Him do this for you so you can be blessed in all areas of your life.

He enables you to forgive all the people in your memories who have hurt and mistreated you. Jesus forgives you for all the anger, resentment, bitterness, and hate that you have toward yourself, toward God, and toward other people. Choose to break every covenant you have made to be resentful, angry, bitter, and hateful towards yourself, God, and others. Ask Jesus to take his blood and annul all these covenants. Choose to receive the forgiveness of God for yourself, God, and others.

Jesus comes into your addictions (lusts, desires), and drives out everything you do in your life to try to overcome the fear and anxiety you have about every making it in life. Addictions such as over working, over eating, under eating, over exercising, over dieting, smoking, drinking, cursing, sexual promiscuity, too many friends, not enough friends, too much attraction to the opposite sex, not enough attraction to the opposite sex, homosexuality, lesbianism, TV, sports, possessions, making money, not making money, etc. Choose to break the covenant you have with any of these addictions (lusts, desires). Ask Jesus to take His blood and annul every one of these covenants. Choose to covenant with the desires of your Heavenly Father, and not with the lusts and addictions of Satan.

Jesus drives out fear, resentment, anger, rage, bitterness, thoughts of murder, suicide and death. He drives out self-condemnation, self-anger, self-judgment, feelings of inferiority, insecurity, ineptness, unworthiness, guilt, and punishment. He drives out depression, despair, loneliness, fear of being alone, gloom and doom. He drives out thought of not existing, thoughts of suicide, and thoughts of death. He drives out the emotional spirit of death that resides in your emotions. The Holy Spirit places into your emotion the spirit of Life. Choose to break every covenant you have made to be controlled and manipulated by negative emotions. Ask Jesus to annul every covenant you have made with any of these emotions. Choose to be in covenant with the Holy Spirit and let him baptize you in LOVE, JOY, PEACE, AND HOPE. Let it flood over you whole being. Be immersed in them.

The Holy Spirit places in your mind the mind that was in Jesus. Jesus drives out doubt, unbelief, confusion, and lack of understanding of the voice, word and truth of God. Your mind is filled with courage, faith, wisdom, knowledge, dominion, power, and strength. Choose to break every covenant you have with negative thoughts. Ask Jesus to annul every covenant you have made with these negative thoughts. Choose to make a covenant to have the mind of Jesus. Receive it as free gift.

Choose to covenant with your heavenly Father to do His will, and His will only. Let your will agree with His will in all things.

Jesus comes and drives out the evil personalities that counterfeit the new person in you. Choose to break all covenants you have ever made with these personalities. Choose to covenant with the Holy Spirit to place in your personality the new person that Jesus Christ created you to be.

Begin to praise and worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for setting your free from the power of Satan and his evil beings. Receive into yourself the complete inheritance you have been given.

How can you tell whether what you are hearing is from God or from Satan? When you hear a voice speak to you, it should be checked out to see where it is coming from. You should get over the idea that you don't hear voices in your inner being. Everyone hears voices. They are always talking to you. You are either being spoken to by the Holy Spirit, or familiar spirits are speaking to you. Familiar spirits are spirits that are familiar with your ancestry and everything that has happened to you since you came alive in your mother's womb. They know how to take the images you have in your memory and cause you to fear so they can manipulate you and talk you into doing what they want you to do. They are experts at whom you are and how to control and manipulate you.

Some people ask me how it is possible for you to hear voices when you don't hear them audibly. Ask yourself this question, do you hear with your ears or with your brain? Obviously, you don't hear with your ears, they are just transmitters of sound. The inner ear converts the sound into electrical impulses so the brain can hear what is being said. When you hear voices on the inside, they are just skipping your outer ears and talking to you through your spiritual ear. The Holy Spirit talks to you through your spiritual ear, and familiar spirits talk to you through your spiritual ear. They do not need your physical ear to talk to you.

You may think that the voices you hear are just your thoughts and not other beings talking to you. Ask yourself another question, have you ever had thoughts that came to you from out of nowhere. You were not thinking about it or considering anything. It just happened? Have you had unpleasant thoughts that you could not get rid of? Sometimes they lingered for days and days, and you wondered if they would ever go away? How many times have you done something on impulse, or done something on the spur of the moment that you thought would make you look better in the eyes of another person? Later, you realized it did not make you look so good. Where did these thoughts come from? Now that most of us believe that we can be spoken to internally by other beings, let's find out how we can find out whose voice is speaking.

These are the three questions I have used for over 20 years to determine if it is the Holy Spirit, or familiar spirits that are speaking to me. Other people have tried other questions and confessions to determine which voice it is. However, I have observed these people for years and have found out that they are still deceived at times when they use these other questions. I believe that God revealed these questions to me, and until He gives me some different ones, I am not going to try to improve on them. Here they are with comments: To the voice that is speaking to you ask these questions.

First Question.

Can you confess to me that Jesus Christ is your Personal Lord, Yes or No? Wait for an answer. You may get silence, they may try to change the subject, they may try to ridicule you for asking such a stupid question, they may try to laugh it off or change the subject to something else, or they may simply say no. If they say no, you don't have to go any further. Choose to break the covenant you have made to listen and discuss things with familiar spirits. Ask Jesus to take his blood and annul the covenant you have made to listen to familiar spirits. Choose to make a covenant with the Holy Spirit to listen to his voice, only, and not to familiar spirits. Ask the Holy Spirit to seal you off from the voices of familiar spirits so you never have to hear or discuss things with them anymore. If the Holy Spirit is the one talking to you, He will immediately say yes, and begin to praise and worship Jesus in a powerful way. You will have no doubt if it is the Holy Spirit.

Second Question.

Are you going to spend eternity in heaven with Jesus, Yes or No? You will get the same kind of answers as you get on the first question. If you do, then break the covenant, ask Jesus to annul it, and ask the Holy Spirit to seal you from the voices of the familiar spirits. If it is the Holy Spirit speaking to you, He will say yes and begin to praise God, and Jesus.

If you are still not sure whether you are hearing the Holy Spirit or not, then ask this question.

Third Question.

By what authority do you speak to me? In almost every case you will get a straight answer with this question. Most of the time the familiar spirits will say the authority they speak from is the Antichrist. You definitely want to break the covenant to listen to familiar spirits, ask Jesus to annul the covenant, and make a new covenant with the Holy Spirit to only hear His voice and none other.
